Ingredients

  • 4 sturdy slices sourdough bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • cup Sauvignon Blanc
  • 8 ounces brie cheese chilled and rind removed, sliced thinly
  • 1 medium honeycrisp apple sliced thinly
  • ½ cup whole berry cranberry sauce

Instructions

Prepare the Bread

  • Butter one side of each slice of sourdough bread generously. On the unbuttered side, lightly brush a thin layer of Sauvignon Blanc to infuse the bread with a subtle flavor.

Assemble the Sandwiches

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place two slices of bread, butter-side down, into the skillet. Layer the brie cheese slices evenly across the bread, followed by thin slices of apple and a dollop of cranberry sauce. Top with the remaining slices of bread, butter-side up, to complete the sandwich.

Cook the Sandwiches

  • Cover the skillet with a lid and reduce the heat to medium. Allow the sandwiches to cook for approximately 3–4 minutes, or until the bottom slice of bread is golden brown and the cheese begins to melt.

Flip and Finish

  • Carefully flip the sandwiches using a spatula. Cook for an additional 3–4 minutes, uncovered, or until the second side is golden brown and the brie is fully melted.

Serve Immediately

  • Remove the sandwiches from the skillet, allow them to cool slightly, and slice them in half before serving. Enjoy while warm for the best flavor and texture.
